So, here’s a cool video of an awesomely beautiful song by a sexy guy that was in a movie with Zach Braff. The song is “Ride”, the artist is Cary Brothers, (who is a man, not a band of brothers,) and the movie is The Last Kiss.
Funny story; when i was watching this video, which features clips from the movie, in one clip i saw a guy who i was SURE was Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters. Turns out it was Casey Affleck. How did i make that mistake? Does anyone else think they kind of look alike? Apparently i was just high! One thing’s for sure, though. Casey Affleck is looking hottt these days!
I have a new hero. Someone i was only mildly aware of until now. His name is Perry Farrell, and his current band Satellite Party has released an incredible album called Ultra Payloaded.
The former front man of Jane’s Addiction and Porno For Pyros, (remember the incredible song “Pets”?,) and the “inventor” of Lollapalooza as a farewell tour for Jane’s Addiction, this incredibly stylish, talented, genious, and bold man is my new hero.
When i got the new Satellite Party album and listened to it, (twice in 3 hours,) i also decided to find out a little bit more about Jane’s Addiction, and discovered a fantastic gem, “Just Because,” from the album Strays, which i had never heard. Ultra Payloaded, the new album, is even more fantastic and modern, and features incredible vocal performances by Perry Farrell as well as performances by many iconic guests, including bassists Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Peter Hook (New Order and Joy Division,) guitarists John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Peter DiStefano (Porno For Pyros,) vocalist Fergie (Black Eyed Peas and solo fame,) drummer Jack Irons (Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam,) as well as 2 other guest groups, Hybrid and Thievery Corporation. All together they have created an album which is currently my favorite album! Get it. It rocks! Perry, I LOVE YOU!!!

I have a couple of new favorite videos, but my most favorite comes from dance diva Ultra Nate, Karl Giant who directed the video for “Automatic”, and from the Pointer Sisters (and Stevie Wonder?), who originally did this song. This video is so hottt, i had to watch it about 30 times in a row!!! I haven’t watched a video this obsessively since No Doubt’s “It’s My Life.” (Another incredible remake, coincidentally.) This video is heart-pounding, blood-pumping, and breath-takingly sexy!!! And without further ado… Ultra Nate / Automatic / Director Karl Giant
There is a movie playing on Showtime right now called Deepwater starring the guy who played the kid in Sling Blade, was in Jarhead, and The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift, Lucas Black. This is one of those movies you have to see twice, not because it’s a great movie, but because it has fucking HOTTT Lucas Black in it, and because it’s fun to see if it makes more sense the 2nd time. (It is a very trippy movie!) Man, Lucas has a body on him! It’s really fun to watch him because he is so sexy and brooding, and because he talks exactly the same way he did in Sling Blade, only with a deeper voice!
He appears shirtless many times in this movie, and it is beautiful! He has such intensity in his face!
Here’s a pic (or 2) of Milo Ventimiglia as Peter Petrelli in Heroes. God i love his hair! Don’t you?
Ok, i know they’re brothers, but wouldn’t it be the most awesome thing in the world if Peter and Nathan just started totally kissing each other passionately???!!! I think they want to! They do! They are dying to kiss each other!
I was watching an episode of Criminal Intent from last year and heard this hauntingly beautiful, chilling song in the opening scene and immediately had to find out what it was! I tried searching by the lyrics, but that didn’t work, so i searched by the episode title, (Blasters,) and ended up at IMDB where they were nice enough to write the following: “Trivia: The song at the beginning of this episode is “Prisoner” by Adam Crossley.” Apparently, many people had searched for this song when the episode first aired. I found Adam’s MySpace page and listened to that song like 5 times, as well as the other songs, all beautiful ballads. (“Fire Escape” should be on the radio!)
“The Prisoner” starts with moody, heart-wrenching piano, and his voice comes in, sounding remarkably like Sting, strong and clear yet tender with a gorgeous reverb. If i close my eyes, i can imagine sitting in a dark concert hall watching him on stage, all alone at the piano, with tears in my eyes. It’s an odd song in the way it was written, with it’s sparse, cryptic, repeating lyrics, but it is also incredibly brilliant! It definitely paints a picture, like a scene from a movie. It’s really ingenious, actually, because it creates a total package of something truly unique and dramatic. How did he even come up with the story for these lyrics? Had he been a prisoner, or was he inspired by something he saw or read, or does he just have a creative imagination? Whatever the case, i am inspired.
Here are the lyrics:
Prisoner writes, with out lights, half a mile underground
He’s won the hearts of the murderous thieves he can’t see, that surround
And the rain cries for him
And the chains bind to him
Like they’ll never see him again
Like they’ll never know him again
Like they’ll never hold him again
Hold him again, Love him, love him again they say
take me home….
Somebody says I could sure use some water
It’s been so long
Prisoner replies, to quench our thirst, how about a song.
Just in case you have not seen this yet, if you’re a fan of Jack Black and/or Lord Of The Rings and/or naked butts, you will want to see this. I found it joyously hysterical and brilliant!
This is an incredible story in so many ways! First of all, the way Paul and i discovered this band, by watching American Idol. How often does this happen, that an American Idol contestant chooses an unknown band’s song to perform, giving the band a landslide of recognition and press that is worth its weight in platinum for an up-and-coming band that just started its new tour to promote their debut album!?
But that’s not even the best part of the story for me. For me the most intriguing thing is the story of how they got started. In this age of the internet, new bands can now burst onto the scene in a “do it yourself” fashion that we could not even dream of just 5 years ago! That’s exactly what this band did, and it is truly an inspiring story.
And like every great story, there is a thrilling twist. Their new record label tried to promote them as a christian band! What a nightmare!
I am talking about the band called Mute Math from New Orleans, LA and Springfield, MO. If you’re an American Idol fan, you should recognize the song “Typical,” (it was sung by Chris Sligh.) I LOVE their album! Apparently they also put on a very hot live show, so check out their tour dates, because they are on tour now!!!
I am also including this story under the category of Hottt, mostly because of the drummer, (the guy with the shortest hair. Mmmm, very cute!)
I have been in love with Dash Mihok since i saw Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, in which he played Benvolio. He was the very hot tall redhead with his shirt open. It’s because of him that i have a little thing for redheads now. I also saw him in The Day After Tomorrow, The Perfect Storm, and Connie and Carla. But my favorite role of his was as Rusty in The Guru, where he played Heather Graham’s character’s massively adorable firefighter fiancee who ends up falling in love with his firefighter buddy Randy, (Bobby Cannavale.) I think the reason i am so attracted to him is because he is so unique. He has pale skin, red hair, and super bright blue eyes. His smile is just heart-melting!
Dash has been in many movies, and definitely has some big fans. He even dated Alanis Morissette in 1999. He even starred in Felicity. And yet, not only are there very few photos of him on the internet, but trying to find a good photo of him on the internet that actually looks like him is almost impossible. Especially his IMDB pic looks nothing like him! How can that be? It’s kind of bizarre to me, actually, that someone can be so gorgeous and sexy on film, but every photograph of him does him no justice. I’ve found a few small pics that come close, but none that really look the way i see him in my mind from his movie roles. (Part of the problem is, the more decent pics of him are with longer hair, and i think he looks better with really short hair.) So, what is this, some kind of non-photogenic phenomenon? And why are there so few photos of him in the first place? Is it because no one can take a good one? (Crazy, right?) The other crazy thing is that if you look at all the photos of him, it seems like you’re looking at different people. His face is like a chameleon or something.
