We all gathered together yesterday. Paul’s aunt, parents, brother and his girlfriend. After eating, paul’s mom decided she wanted me to color her hair. Then his aunt decided she did, too. Then his brother decided he wanted to go bleach blonde again. then Paul decided he wanted to go black. So, i went to the store and bought 5 boxes of different color hair dye, (i got one extra.) The cashier looked at me after seeing all this, as well as the beer, wine, and whiskey, and said, “You having a hair dyeing party?” I chuckled and said “yup.” I went back and spent the rest of the evening coloring hair. It was an only slightly surreal experience, and actually a lot of fun! Why didn’t we have a camera?!

When i was a kid, one of my favorite movies was Clash of the Titans. I used to watch it over and over again and go to bed hoping to dream that i was Perseus roaming the land with a little owl and riding on the back of a flying horse to defeat destructive creatures. Now, it seams, my dreams have come true…

I’ve never been much of a video game player. In fact, the only game i’ve ever “beaten” was Prince of Persia, (the first one. The second one was too hard.) My partner has been playing World of warcraft with his friends on the computer for a while now, and has been telling me how addictive it is, but i never thought much about playing it. Then recently my sister told me that she’s been playing it, too, and told me that it is a lot of fun and very addictive. (Her husband got her into it.) Last week i saw an ad on TV about a free trial on W.O.W., so i finally decided to try it. (The free trial just ended, but keep checking, there will be another one soon, i’m sure.)

So, Paul showed me what to do to get started, (apparently it was better for him to invite me and get me started because it gave him a free month and probably some other “points.”) We invited Dan and Chuck over and the 4 of us sat in our living room with our Mac laptops on our laps and we played WOW together until 4:30 in the morning. (Is this some bizarre Mac commercial? 4 gay guys sitting in a room playing World of Warcraft! How peculiar!) Wow! I never expected to have that much fun playing a computer game.

So what is WOW you may be wondering? It is a multi-player on-line game that has something like 6 million players world wide. However, you only play with the people on your server, so make sure you pick the server that your friends are playing in, or you will be all alone with a bunch of strangers in a strange world. You can play alone or in a group, and i would definitely suggest starting in a group of seasoned friends like i did so you can quickly learn the game. If i had tried it on my own, i probably would have gotten very frustrated, but that’s just me. Give it a try anyway, if that’s your only option. The world inside the game however is VAST!!! There are many, many lands to travel to. (The photo shown here is a map of only one of the many small ‘countries’ of the world in this game.) You get to make up your own character, which is awesome! You can be “good” or “bad,” male or female, be a warlock, a warrior, or a hunter…(everyone does some magic, it’s a very magical world, for the little Merlin in all of us!) You can be human, elf, gnome…and you can have a pet! I have a white tigerish “nightsaber” that helps me on my quests. (He prefers meat, but he will eat spiders legs.) I named him Pretty Kitty! In fact, you can have more than one character, and on different servers if you want to. For example, i could create a different character and play with my sister in Texas sometimes if i want to, (i think.)
That was 2 days ago, and i have already spent many hours playing WOW. Yesterday we played for 6 hours and it felt like 2!!! One very good thing i have to say about this game, besides the fact that it is a great way to conquer winter boredom, is that it has actually helped to ease my depression. (Taking up blogging has, too!!!) (Thank you baby, and Dan and Chuck and Jerry!!!)

So, if you’re feeling blue or just bored and your friends have been bugging you to try it, go ahead and do it, even if you’re not a video-game player. It doesn’t matter, this is a lot of fun!

Ok, call me weird, but i think Jack Black is pretty cute. And he actually has an incredible voice, which you can hear a couple of times in this movie when he’s not screaming.
Now, if you like to get baked, you will probably want to do so before seeing this movie. If you don’t, you will wish you had. I’m pretty sure this movie was made for watching stoned. I’m not a pot smoker, but i still enjoyed this movie. It is a lot of fun.

Tenacious D, (Jack Black and Kyle Gass,) have a website that you should go to to get you in the mood to go see this movie if you’re not already. You will hear a few songs from the movie, including the “History Of Tenacious D” which is a fun song, brilliantly written of course, with some shockingly great moments where you really hear what great singers they are. NOTE: In order to watch the videos & stuff, you have to turn off the music by clicking on the tiny music note in the box at the top. There is also a brilliantly made music video for a song called “Wonderboy” that is like a scene from a Lord of the Rings movie. Great! (When you get to this link, click on Wonderboy.)

My boyfriend Paul and i had invited some friends to go see Marc Broussard at The Independent in San Francisco because we had a bunch of tickets. We invited our friend Sara, her boyfriend James, and their friend Trevor, a straight guy who we had never met before, as well as three other friends. (Remember this.) We meet for dinner before the concert to discover that Trevor is a very handsome guy with a nice body who apparently enjoys the attention and seems to be flirting with everyone. (At least, in my mind, he’s flirting.) Well, we have a drink with dinner and get nice and relaxed, and at one point, as Trevor is “flirting,” Paul and i look at eachother, and i lean over and whisper to him, “I think we might be able to take this guy home tonight,” (because that’s the kind of secure, fun-loving relationship we have.)
So, we go to the concert, and we’re drinking and having a blast, because Marc Broussard is awesome, and Trevor ends up coming over to stand right next to me and Paul. Well, Paul and i are very affectionate with eachother all the time, and we don’t have to hide it at all in San Francisco, so i’m pressed up against him with my arms around him, playing with his ass, all that fun stuff! Trevor doesn’t seem the least bit bothered by it; he’s smiling and having a good time….. So at some point, i’m drunk enough to reach over and touch Trevor’s ass with a slightly lingering “accidental” brush. He’s standing kind of in front of me at this point, so i can’t really see if anything changed in his face, but he doesn’t move away. It was a very exciting, exhilerating rush for me, so i try it again. Again, no attempt to move away, though there’s plenty of room around us at this point, no one else standing that close to us, so he knows it’s me touching his ass, right? So i do it a couple more times, each time leaving my hand there longer. So far so good, so i finally just cup one ass cheek with my hand and gently let my fingers trace the line of his ass crack. This lasts for maybe about 10 or 20 seconds, (maybe less, it’s kind of a blur,) and then suddenly he turns and walks away. It was a little sad, but i didn’t worry too much about it. So, the concert ends, and i head to the bathroom, and apparently Trevor, Sara and James immediately take off to go home.

The next day i wake up, hung over, painfully remembering stumbling down the sidewalk and puking after the concert, and also remembering bits and pieces of this surreal experience where i was fondling a straight guy’s ass! Suddenly i felt incredibly embarassed, so i decide to just block it out and forget about it.

About a week later, Jerry, (one of the other 3 friends who had gone to the concert with us,) calls to see if we want to go out for dinner and music shopping. So we go out, and as we’re eating dinner, Jerry asks, “So i think Trevor had fun with us. Do you think he’ll want to hang out with us again soon?” Suddenly, i get a bit uncomfortable, and after a moment, i shyly and awkwardly smile and say, “I’m not sure if Trevor will want to hang out with us again.” They both look at me and say, “Why not?” I look at them, and they both have strange, perplexed grins on their faces. Uh-oh. “Well,” i say. “I think it’s possible i may have fondled Trevor’s ass at the concert.” Jerry says, “You think you did, or you did?” “Ok, i did,” i admit. Then Jerry says, “I actually already knew that, I saw the whole thing!” Oh shit! Until this moment, i had completely blocked out the fact that the rest of our friends were standing behind us, and apparently saw it all go down!
A couple of weeks later, we are with Sara, who we’ve already seen since the concert, but the subject of Trevor never came up. We were saying goodbye to her, and i say, “Say hi to James,” and Paul says, “Say hi to Trevor!” I feel this tidal wave of embarassment rush over me and i look at Sara to find that she has this highly amused look on her face with her eyes and mouth wide open looking at me. I use the papers in my hand to cover my face, and she starts laughing hystercally and says, “Oh my god, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that!! Trevor told us about that, and we both called him a liar and told him that you would never do something like that! So it’s true?!” I just keep holding the paper in front of my mouth. Paul’s loving it! “Well, i told him,” she continues, “Even if it did happen, he should consider it a great compliment!!!” We’ve had some great laughs over it since then. We’ve laughed so hard that our stomach muscles couldn’t take anymore. I know this story will live on for a long time to come, and i secretly love it. I am hopeful that Trevor will forgive me if the opportunity ever comes along to invite him to hang out with us again.

I suppose there’s a moral to this story. Never get that drunk, because you never know what stories might follow you around for the rest of your life!
